Marius Vivier: Group CEO

Marius was born in 1961 in Upington and matriculated in 1979 at Namaqualand High School in Springbok. In 1981 Marius started a career in banking, where he gained valuable experience in all fields of banking with two of the largest banking groups in South Africa, namely First National Bank and ABSA. During the last 7 years of his banking career, Marius specialised in property finance where he held the position of Area Manager: Commercial and Industrial Property Finance at ABSA.

Marius left ABSA in 1997 to establish one of the first mortgage origination companies in South Africa, namely Omnicron Financial Services, today known as COMMERCIAL MORTGAGE COMPANY.

Mike Barr: Group Director

Mike was born in Paarl in 1962 and matriculated at Paarl Boys High, in 1979 whereafter he completed a post matric at Diocesan College in 1980. He obtained a B.Sc Building Management degree from the University of Cape Town in 1984 and was active in the construction industry from 1987 to 1996. Areas of expertise included the management of building sites, sub-contracting and property development. In 1996 Mike joined ABSA as a Manager in the Commercial and Industrial Finance division.

In 1997 he joined Omnicron Financial Services, today known as COMMERCIAL MORTGAGE COMPANY.

Gerrit Hickman: Director - Commercial Mortgage Company

Gerrit Hickman matriculated at the Huguenot High School, Wellington in 1978. After his National Service and studies at the University of Stellenbosch, he joined ABSA Bank in 1984 for a career in banking. He spent the following 19 years with ABSA, the largest banking group in South Africa where he obtained valuable experience in all fields of banking. Gerrit specialised in property finance during the last 6 years of his banking career, before joining COMMERCIAL MORTGAGE COMPANY in March 2003.

Kevin Clench - Director M Capital

Kevin was born in Port Elizabeth in 1966 and matriculated from St Charles College in Pietermaritzburg in 1984. After completing his National Service he obtained a BSc. Building Management degree from the University of Natal, Durban whereafter he commenced his career in property development, property investment and property finance. Prior to joining M Capital, Kevin spent time in Dubai where he headed up the Property Finance business for Barclays Bank Plc, U.A.E. before returning to Cape Town.

Previous employment includes property development and investment experience with Sanlam Properties (Investment Manager) and Group 5 Properties, and specialist property finance
experience with BoE Corporate, FirstRand Bank (FNB Corporate and RMB Property Finance),
and Barclays Bank, Plc.
